dot-01TELKOM CUSTOMER FORUM – SEYCHELLES The Brief was to create a Customer Forum event, specifically aimed at ad- dressing Telkom’s top corporate customers. The forum is used to shape the company’s strategic direction for the coming year and build solid customer relationships. This is also a way for Telkom to show recognition and gratitude for the good relationships they enjoy with their customers. The event took the form of a 3 night, 4 day stay at the exclusive Ephelia Resort in Seychelles. It included a full day conference for 200 delegates, Full day of activities & excursions as well as a Gala Dinner. By Design Africa was responsible for the planning and execution of this event which included the travel arrangements (a chartered flight), Videography & Pho- tography and full logistics.

dot-01PLESSEY INCENTIVE TRAVEL – AMAZON JUNGLE & RIO DE JANEIRO 40 people from Plessey had the experience of a life time, when we whizzed them off to the Amazon Jungle and Rio De Janeiro for their Incentive. They experienced the Meeting of the Waters (2 different coloured waters combining together), went Piranha and crocodile fishing as well as watch- ing the local Indians perform cultural shows. The final night ending in a beach party in the middle of the Amazon Jungle. It was then off to Rio Da Janeiro, where guests stayed at the famous Cocapabana Hotel. They met the famous Selaron who tiled 215 steps at St Theresa with colourful bits of tile collected locally as well as being donated by visitors around the world. Then onto the famous Corcovado know as the “Statue of Christ”. Another highlight was travelling by cable car up Sugar Loaf Mountain for a cocktail event where they went for a 10 minute spin over Rio in a helicopter.

dot-01LOANLINK GROUP INCENTIVE TRAVEL – BUDAPEST AND PRAGUE Employees and their spouses enjoyed an Incentive tour to Budapest and Prague and were overawed at these two beautiful cities. Budapest started off with a visit to Memento Park, home to almost four dozen statues, busts and plaques to Lenin, Marx and other heroes of the socialist era. Other activities enjoyed were a lunch cruise on the Danube river before visiting the Royal Palace and descending by Funicular railway. Teambuilding was a “James Bond” adventure and that evening they enjoyed an authentic Tram ride followed by dinner in a cave. Prague’s visit was a sightseeing dream visiting the Prague Castle and walking on the Charles Bridge founded in 1357. They visited the Old Town and the New Town with Wenceslas Square and sampled the Czech beer at Pilsner Urquell. A highlight was trying their hand at glass blowing “Bohemia Crystal” and getting to keep the finished product. And no visit would be complete without a visit to the Astronomical Clock at Old Town Square. Din- ners were in unusual venues and driven in old motorcars, in horse-drawn carriages and Trams with wonderful entertainment by the locals. All agreed they would love to go back one day.

dot-01LENOVO INCENTIVE TRAVEL – HONG KONG AND CHINA This was a customer Incentive trip for Lenovo who took IMB suppliers to see their operation in China as well as enjoy the sights. The first stop was in Hong Kong where they started with a river cruise to view the daily lives of the water people against the huge highrise buildings of the city dwellers. After 2 days of sightseeing and opulent eating it was onto Schenzen where Lenovo have a factory to show their customers their products. It was an education as none of the people spoke English and eating in a local res- taurant proved very interesting! Then onto Beijing to visit another Lenovo Head office and a day of product knowledge for the suppliers. Highlights of Beijing: VISITING Tiananmen Square and the Monument of the People’s Heroes, Great Hall of the People, the National Museum and the Forbidden City. The best highlight was visiting the Great Wall of China.

dot-01ABBOTT ANNUAL CONFERENCE – SWAKOPMUND – NAMIBIA

Abbott chose Swakopmund for their annual conference. They conferenced for 3 days but enjoyed the evening dinner events highlighting the best of Swakopmund. From the famous German Beer House Brauhaus to a awards dinner with a masked ball theme in the desert they were never short of entertainment. The marine cruise had an unusual visitor – the seal jumped on the boat and joined in the merriment. Champagne and Oysters in the desert with the champagne being dropped by sky divers. An afternoon of adventure in the desert with quad biking and sand boarding. A truly memorable experience in the Namibian desert.
